Lunch N Life Event, Washington-Tokyo Women's Club Chorus

The Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna announces the entertainment for their next Lunch’n Life event scheduled for May 20, 2019 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 2589 Chain Bridge Road, Vienna, VA 22181. Lunch is served at Noon, followed by entertainment from the Washington-Tokyo Women’s Club Chorus. Cost is $15 pp. Payment due by May 13th. RSVP to SCOV office@scov.org – 703281-0538. The Washington-Tokyo Women’s Club chorus has been in existence since the early 1990’s. In addition to regular performances at nursing homes and senior lunches, they have appeared on the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage and performed for the Asian-American and Cherry Blossom Festivals on various occasions. The chorus is under the direction of Ms. Yuko Ohnishi.
Their programs, always accompanied by pianists who are also members of the chorus, include traditional folk songs, jazz standards, and contemporary pieces of both the English and Japanese repertoires. The singers are all members of the Washington Tokyo Women’s Club, and some have been singing with the group for 15 years or more.
