Who We Are

AARP participates in Triad by implementing activities designed to reduce the level of criminal victimization as it impacts senior persons. Educational, training, instructional, and counseling groups are organized for volunteers to perform specific tasks to reduce the vulnerability of the seniors to those unscrupulous villains who prey upon them. Triad consists of the Sheriff, the Chief of Police, AARP, and older or retired volunteers in the community who have agreed to work together to reduce criminal victimization of senior citizens.

The Triad program is a cooperative effort between law enforcement and senior citizen agencies designed to prevent crime against the elderly.  Usually a Triad meeting in every county in Virginia.
