Who We Are
RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) offers a special interest organization promoting volunteer service for adults 55 years of age and above. Referrals for volunteer service are received from non-profit agencies and county facilities. Prospective volunteers may call or visit the agency office.
RSVP provides a recognized role in the community and a meaningful life in retirement for older adults through significant volunteer service. These volunteers serve on a regular basis in public or private non-profit organizations such as schools, libraries, courts, museums, hospitals, nursing homes, day care centers, literacy programs, and Meals on Wheel programs. This program encourages organizations and agencies to develop a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for retired persons. Agency recruits and places senior volunteers, provides appropriate recognition activities, and arranges for any necessary training and develops community support for the program.
Volunteer opportunities include delivering meals, insurance counseling, transporting seniors to medical appointments, volunteering at dinning centers and clerical assistance at the Bay Aging office
