Who We Are
Volunteers are needed at Capital Caring to help in many areas to provide essential services and support to hospice patients in their home as well as the facility. Volunteers are involved in patient care, bereavement support. Camp Begin-Again, fundraising activities, administrative tasks, professional services, speaking on topics ranging from death and dying to grief, hospice care, dealing with feelings, as well as work the information booth at health and wellness fairs, and answering questions about hospice. Volunteers are also needed seasonally or for special projects. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the office.
After an informal interview, security clearance and Hospice volunteer orientation, prospective patient care volunteers receive 24 hours of training. Those choosing to volunteer their time at the Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center receive additional training.
