Who We Are

The Jefferson Area Board for Aging has been supporting individuals and caregivers in central Virginia through the journey of aging since 1975. We are the gateway for information and support for seniors, adults with disabilities, and their families in the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson.

JABA’s mission is to promote, establish and preserve sustainable communities for healthy aging that benefit individuals and families of all ages. To achieve our mission, we offer a wide range of services that help older adults stay active in their communities and remain living at home for as long as possible. Our services include adult day care centers and community senior centers offering intergenerational activities, hot meals, and health services; home delivered meals to frail, homebound seniors; information and options counseling to seniors and their families; Medicare and ACA insurance counseling; and a vibrant volunteer program to engage seniors in community service.

JABA offers support to older adults, individuals with disabilities and caregivers at all income levels and provides services at multiple sites based on your location within our service area. Visit our website at www.jabacares.org for specific locations and hours.
