Who We Are
Rockingham County Sheriff's office participates in TRIAD by implementing activities designed to reduce the level of criminal victimization as it impacts senior persons.
The Rockingham County TRIAD is a partnership among the Rockingham County Sheriff, the police chiefs of Harrisonburg, Bridgewater, Broadway, Dayton, Elkton, Grottoes and Timberville, members of the American Association of Retired People [AARP] and older, retired leadership in the area.
A major purpose of Triad is to develop, expand and implement effective crime prevention and education programs for older Virginians. Triad works to improve the quality of life for seniors by providing an active exchange of information between local law enforcement and seniors and enhance the delivery of law enforcement services to this population.
The Rockingham County TRIAD sponsors crime prevention programs for older persons, information on how to avoid criminal victimization, expanded involvement in Neighborhood Watch, including the Sheriff's Office Electronic Neighborhood Watch, home security information and inspections, and personal safety tips.
Meetings are held every other month at the Sheriff's office or meeting room of a Council member. Call for more information.
