Who We Are

Amelia County Department of Social Services provides information about a wide range of supportive/rehabilitative services and financial assistance to needy and eligible children, families, and adults. Some of the assistance programs are auxiliary grants, disaster assistance, energy assistance (fuel, crisis, cooling, and weatherization), food stamps, general relief, medical assistance, temporary assistance for needy families, and caregivers grants.



Adult services available are assessment for an assisted living facility, pre-admission screening for a nursing home, companion services, homemaker services, adult day care, nutrition information, and case management.
