Albemarle County Sheriff's office participates in TRIAD by implementing activities designed to reduce the level of criminal victimization as it impacts senior persons.
A major purpose of Triad is to develop, expand and implement effective crime prevention and education programs for older Virginians. Triad works to improve the quality of life for seniors by providing an active exchange of information between local law enforcement and seniors.
The TRIAD presents Senior Safety Seminars throughout the year. The seminar topics include Senior Home Safety, Scam Awareness, Gadget Fairs, Safe-Shopping on the Internet, Storm Preparedness, Gang Awareness, and Elder Abuse Awareness. The programs are presented free of charge to interested senior groups and organizations. Funding for the seminar materials has been obtained through grants from the Office of the Virginia Attorney General.
