Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers assist the Women's Resource Center of the New River Valley staff members in providing shelter services and maintaining the Crisis Hotline. Volunteers also serve in special areas of interest such as working with children, providing Emergency Advocacy services, working as Advanced Volunteers, and providing special one-time projects such as decorating a transitional housing apartment unit or organizing holiday parties.  Volunteer Opportunities are available throughout the center working with all ages.



Volunteer training is offered 4 to 5 times a year. This extensive, interactive pre-service instruction provides trainees with a wide variety of learning experiences revolving around family and sexual violence, crisis intervention and helping skills.
