Who We Are

The Administrative Office for the Norfolk Department of Human Services provides information about public assistance programs and social services. These programs and services promote self-reliance and protection through the provision of community-based services and help families meet basic needs.

Programs include adult services, adult protective services, pre-screening for nursing facilities, child care assistance, child protective services, utility assistance, energy assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, foster care, and adoption services, auxiliary grants, Cardinal Care Medicaid and FAMIS eligibility, and TANF.
