Who We Are

The administrative office of the Isle of Wight Department of Social Services can provide information about benefit programs and services available to eligible citizens of Isle of Wight in meeting their fundamental needs during times of temporary economic and social crisis. The focus is to prevent dependency and encourage self-sufficiency; preserve and restore family functioning and stability as well as promote and protect the well being of children, the elderly and the disabled.

Services provided are Adoption Services, Food Stamps, Adult Protective Services, Foster Care Recruitment and Training, Adult Services, Fuel Assistance, Auxillary Grants, Child Protective Services, Home-Based Services, Children's Medical Security Program, Information and Referral, Child Day Care, Cardinal Cover Medicaid, Energy Assistance Program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
