Paratransit Service

Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) offers two paratransit programs:

ADA Paratransit Service - This service is for Senior Citizens, Medicare cardholders, and Persons with Disabilities (permanent or temporary) living within the city limits of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, or Hopewell or within ¾ mile of the service areas. The paratransit service operates wheelchair-equipped vans providing curb-to-curb (door-to-door upon request) service for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) qualified passengers.

PAT offers an express route to Richmond  This program is specifically designed for Veterans and senior persons over 65 years of age and people with disabilities. The bus only services McGuire Veteran Center and Medical College of Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University medical centers.

For 65 Years Old Paratransit Service - This service is available for persons 65 years old or older living in the City of Petersburg, the City of Colonial Heights, and the City of Hopewell.

Reservations for next-day service may be arranged by calling the Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) administrative offices at 804.324-5658, 24 hours a day. Confirmation will be made the same day or the morning of the next day. Paratransit service is available from 6:00 am until 6:15 pm Monday thru Friday and 7:00 am until 6:15 pm on Saturday.
