Who We Are

The City of Richmond Police serves as a liaison between the Richmond community and the Richmond Police Department. Services offered are self-defense for women, personal safety/vacation safety, senior safety, frauds, scams, and schemes, safety for the physically challenged, safety for a home, robbery prevention, small retail security, home security/business security surveys, neighborhood watch/business watch, residential security patrol training and citizen/employees/senior/youth police academy and a ride-along program.

Neighborhood Watch is an effective and least costly way to prevent crime and reduce fear. It forges bonds among the residents and improves relations between the police and the community. Neighborhood Watch can help reduce burglaries, robberies, and quality of life issues in your area. Neighborhood Watch provides direct contact with the Police Department; promotes awareness of crime; gives access to crime statistics; Neighborhood Watch signs deter criminals; send a warning to criminals that they will be seen; and increases reporting of crime and suspicious activities.

A quarterly Neighborhood Watch newsletter is posted on the website.
