Volunteering, Wildlife Rescue

Wildlife rescue provides response to inquiries about injured or orphaned wildlife, primarily waterfowl. Under the supervision of a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, volunteers apply direct medical care and treatment to injured wildlife. Volunteers also transport seriously ill wildlife to veterinary hospital; assists stranded waterfowl in getting to water, removes fishing hooks from body parts; provides training in the nature of wildlife to encourage tolerance and decrease perceptions of situational problems; and assists with the care and maintenance of the Aviary where wildlife is sheltered and rehabbed until release back into their habitat.
