Animal Welfare League of Arlington recruits and trains volunteers. Volunteers help with:
- Special events,
- Foster care provider, pet therapy (a must-have area to keep fosterlings separate from your own pets and complete foster addendum),
- Pet therapy (must have your own pet),
- Animal transport (must have valid driver's license and vehicle),
- Dog kennel assistant,
- Cat room assistant and
- Small animal room assistant.
You must be 18 years old to volunteer. The League does allow junior volunteers to assist their parents in various volunteer opportunities. You may request a volunteer application by calling 703-931-9241, ext.200 or e-mail volunteer@awla.org. Please mail, fax or bring completed applications to the League.
Orientations are held quarterly, usually on a Saturday. Applicants are invited to orientation and training sessions based on the volunteer opportunities selected on the application.
