Who We Are
RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) engages persons age 55 and older in activities which meet community needs. RSVP projects include Head Start, food pantries, American Heart Association, United way, adult literacy, America reads, health fairs, nursing home placements, neighborhood watch, libraries, schools, Red Cross bloodmobile and many others.
RSVP projects link the skills of the volunteers with identified community needs. The volunteers determine how many hours and when they can serve. RSVP volunteers receive accident, personal liability, and excess automobile insurance.
Senior Companions are low-income volunteers, age 55+ who serve a minimum of 15 hours per week providing on-going support services to adults, especially older adults who are home bound. Services provided by Senior Companions include daily tasks such as companionship-talking and listening, transportation, peer counseling, grocery shopping, meal preparation and light housekeeping.
