Housing Counseling and Foreclosure Prevention

Skyline CAP, Inc. is a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. Counselors are available to assist with all aspects of buying a home and owning a home. Housing counseling is provided without regard to income, race, religion, or national origin. The Comprehensive Housing Counseling Program at Skyline CAP provides the following services:

• FREE private consultation between the housing counselor and the client.
• FREE assessment of client’s situation to determine individual need. This includes a review of the client’s budget and credit history.
• FREE information and advice about various programs available to help client acquire and maintain housing that is affordable for the individual client.

Areas of Counseling include:  First-Time Home -Buyers Program, Resolving or Preventing Mortgage Delinquency or Default, Securing or Maintaining Residence in Rental House, Shelter or Service for the Homeless and Fair Housing.

A designated community action agency (CAA) for Greene, Madison and Orange counties, Skyline CAP extends many of its programs to the counties of Fauquier, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah and Warren.  To access any housing counseling services, contact a housing counselor in your county.
