Palliative Medicine

Bon Secours Palliative Medicine provides palliative care for patients and families dealing with serious illnesses to ensure they get the best care possible. Our focus is to help patients and families improve their quality of life by addressing symptom needs, defining care goals, and facilitating communication with providers involved in their care.

• What We Address (COPE):   
• Care Decisions, including open discussions about treatment choices and Advance Medical Directives
• Overwhelming Symptoms, for example, pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite and difficulty sleeping
• Psychosocial Distress that may include anxiety, depression, fears, and spiritual tension
• End-Stage Disease with a focus on the entire well-being of the person and family
