Neighborhood and Senior Watch

The Charles City County Sheriff's Department is responsible for safeguarding life and property.  It sponsors three home safety programs:  Neighborhood Watch, Senior Watch and Watch Dogs.

Neighborhood Watch can help reduce burglaries, robberies, and quality of life issues in your area. It forges bonds among the residents and improves relations between police and the community.   Anyone can join a Neighborhood Watch.  You will learn how to make your homes more secure, watch out for each other and your neighborhood, and report activities that appear to be suspicious to the sheriff’s office.  To start a neighborhood watch in your area contact the Sergeant F. Senior Watch is a program where senior citizens of the community are checked three times a week either by phone or in person.  If you know a senior citizen you wish for us to check on please call the office.

Watch Dogs Property Check Service is a service offered by the Sheriff’s Office as time is available throughout the day and night.  It is designed to give citizens a greater peace of mind while they are away from their homes.  This service is for resident owners of residential and business property in Charles City County.
