Village Connector Experience

The Juanita C. Grant Foundation, Inc. has a program known as the Village Connector Experience (VCE). This program is a structured outreach call program for older adults that may be experiencing a sense of loneliness. Covid-19 has disrupted the usual social outlets for many older adults resulting in social isolation from family, friends, and their normal activities. VCE Ambassadors are volunteers that have received 16 hours of training in motivational techniques and active listening skills. Older adults that sign up for calls 1-3 times per week are referred to as VCE Members. Members may also elect to participate in online craft parties and tea times.
