Who We Are
Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for volunteers for an innovative program designed to help hospitalized older frail adults during their hospital stay. Hospitalized patients are visited three times a day during their hospital stay by volunteers, seven days a week to prevent mental and physical decline. Assistance is offered with meals, walking, stress reduction, sleep promotion and cognitive stimulation.
Volunteers are carefully trained to give bedside attention to lessen or prevent what is known as delirium and to help keep hospitalized patients from declining mentally and physically.
